Oh, You Did NOT
Nov. 9th, 2012 12:36 pmI've been working with a travel agency on a conference, and they hired a new agent this week. The new agent has - I am told - booked travel for a number of conference participants, but she's been skipping the step where she sends me the intinerary for approval before booking it. This is an important step, because I'm paying. In addition to the cost of the tickets, I am paying $38 per booking, and when the traveler winds up booking the trip as two one way tickets, they're billing us that fee twice.
So I don't get the itineraries for approval, and I tell her this, and she returns "I sent them. Maybe they went to your spam folder."
Really.
Because at $38 a booking, I frankly expect the response to "I didn't receive those itineraries" to be "Oh dear! I'm attaching them below, can you let me know right away if the files don't come through?" I have sent, and re-sent, plenty of files that I can bloody well prove I sent more then once.
Which means I have officially become the boss I couldn't stand when I was 23. By tomorrow, I will be printing all my correspondence twice to assure that nothing gets mailed out with an errant speck from the printer.
