A Night for Things
Oct. 10th, 2012 08:59 pmWhen I started this LJ, I told myself that I was going to keep it for writing funny things, thus avoiding all kinds of overshare and drama. It turns out that funny can include a ton of overshare, and I fairly frequently pass up topics because I could make myself roll on the floor, but there would be drama. It's been a good policy for me, and I am seldom inclined to drop it, but I largely haven't felt up to writing funny things lately, so I haven't been writing.
But there's this thing out there - some of you have undoubtedly heard of it - a stand-up set that Tig Notaro did this past summer, about her cancer diagnosis.
It costs five bucks. I highly recommend it. I don't really know from art, because I have a bachelor's degree where I learned that I can't define it, and it's funny stuff, but it's hard to call it comedy. It's just, when we open our mouths, we don't always contribute to the sum of interpersonal understanding. So this is worth something.
