Can I buy mang lhassi, premixed? Bonus points for real ingredients and not high fructose corn syrup. Maybe some points for individual serving size, but I might not care.

Some time ago, I contemplated whether there'd be a market in bringing a juice box package of mango lassi into distribution. Due to the same frustration of not finding it. Seems like something you should be able to walk into an Indian market and buy but I have not actually seen it myself.

It does exist http://www.flickr.com/photos/eatingintranslation/5909504955/ shows a picture of at least one brand. But he got it at a hallal deli in NY. Google did not give me a Boston source though :(.

Along similar lines, a colleague brought the following picture over for us to post in our physics department:

It appears that Trader Joe's has frozen mango chunks. (Their website says so, at least.) So if you can't get it pre-mixed, maybe you can at least get rid of the most onerous part of the prep work. I'd bet you can even get someone to blend up a big batch for you and freeze it in individual portions, or do it yourself if there are days when you feel up to such. Just in case the Indian market doesn't work out. I haven't done this with this recipe specifically, but I've made plenty of other yogurt+fruit concoctions, and they generally freeze quite well.

Oh, crap. Further perusal of the comments at the above link implies they may have discontinued the frozen mango. *sigh* I can do more research into frozen mango later, if you'd like; now I have to pin down two kids, get them dressed, and go appeal my ridiculous property taxes.

I can get frozen mango chunks at the grocery store.

I really can't deal with any part of the make/freeze/thaw cycle right now. I was kind of hoping to just trade cash for a finished solution.

Ah. I totally understand, and hope someone manages to find you a local source. I'd make for you and ship, but I don't think they'd respond well to home canning. Just as soon as someone develops a teleportation device....

You could probably buy mango kefir, which is basically a thin lassi, and put it on your own ice. (If not, you could combine frozen mango chunks, yogurt, and a blender in appropriate proportions and have an easily mixed one.)

At least one place sells it by the gallon. Search on "catering" for the win.

They won't deliver to Dorchester, but they appear to be a short walk up Mass Ave from the Green Line Hynes stop.

Have some coupons, too.

The gentleman makes an excellent point. If the market is not obliging, would you like me to attempt to pick up a gallon from my local CürryHaüs on Friday?

Foodtown on Mass Ave in Cambridge, carries a brand. I brought you some samples, let me know if they pass your review.
