Jan. 18th, 2012 09:17 amI had to hit Target for clothes for Danger Lad! this morning, as he is outgrowing everything, and discovered that he has outgrown the infant/toddler boys' section nearly entirely, which is to say, everything plausibly DL! sized in the store was in the ordinary boys' section. Because it would be a travesty for more than the minimum retail footage to be given over to boring boys clothes, smack in the middle of the boys' section, is girls' underwear, aka training bras. So hey there, Target, way to smack a mama with things she was not prepared to contemplate.
Then again, Target has certainly produced a more useful product line than the one I had to deal with growing up. I recall feeling, about five minutes after I convinced my mom to buy me a bra, like I didn't understand why I'd bothered - I was just as exposed and unsupported as I'd been without one, and now I itched. Target's gone in for lining their bras, and the line offers parents the opportunity to strike a compromise between practical nude-colored training bras and fun things with rainbow-colored stars.
I would totally have bras with rainbow-colored stars if they came in my size.

But they do carry them.

Date: 2012-01-24 02:00 am (UTC)I didn't think that was true, so I just checked. I guess it depends on your definition of "large range of sizes": in a DDD cup they have two styles, one in a 36 only, the other in the odd choices of two different colors of leopard print. Nothing at all over a 40 band or DDD cup. The small end looks a bit better, bottoming out at 30A (10 styles, 6 of them padded) and 32AA (16 styles, 12 padded). A bit better than they were long ago when I acknowledged I could no longer shop there, but, well, I still can't.

Date: 2012-01-24 04:28 am (UTC)I watch for the sales so Vickie's prices aren't ludicrous. But ANY price for something that doesn't fit would be too high.
Obligatory pedantry
