Tomatoes are still $3.75 a pound at the Milton Farmers Market. Heirlooms are $5. I know there's been tomato blight and all, but prices at the Central Square market have fallen to more like $2 and $4 a pound.

Still no berries.

Peaches are $2.50 a pound and pretty weedy looking.

It's not getting better and I'm not going anymore.

I hadn't realized you were talking about *Milton*.

I wouldn't expect those prices to drop, though I am surprised there isn't being a better selection there...

Are people buying them?

Evidently. *Why* they're buying them is beyond me. The selection is lousy, the prices are far too high, and I have seen better quality produce on sale for less THIS WEEK at a locally-owned grocery store, as well as at other farmers' markets.

As Barnum said, "there's one born every minute." All I can do is refuse to be one of them.
