I have been having serious cravings for Danish, but I have been unable to find satisfactory ones anywhere local. SOme places don't even bother to twist them up into little circles, they just cut out pastry squares, and for some reason, the particular texture to the twisty circly ones has been calling my name.
So I made Danish. I am not all that good with this kind of pastry dough - I wound up with lumps of butter cutting through the pastry (rather than layering neatly), and please imagine this process as including all the chaos and interruptions that can possibly be supplied by one small child with a bowl of oatmeal, but the end results aren't half bad. Further experimentation may be called for.
