Falwell accidentally opens the door for Pagans to proselytize via school.

Kinda cool how that "freedom of religion" thing applies to all the religions, ain't it?

It's horribly sad how many people want "Freedom of X",
so long as it only applies to their values.

I find the whole situation wonderfully, deliciously full of irony and look forward to the sea of hypocrisy these guys come up with against it.

That pagan thing sounds like it'd be a really neat thing, actually. If I had kids I'd totally take them.

ITA. So far as I can tell, the UU is a pretty good place for kids. They have the usual disadvantage for organized religion as far as I'm concerned (meetings on weekend mornings), but appear to be missing many of the other disadvantages.

There are two religions such that everyone I've met who was raised in that religion is someone I liked and respected:

UUs and Mormons.

Make of that what you will.

As sad as the reaction to it is, I love seeing stories like this. It's just another reminder that the fight for "alternative" lifestyles (including religion) is still alive and well.

And yeah, the UU definately does not suffer as much from the conventions of many organized religions. Ariesd has complete disdain for organized religion but likes the UU enough that he settled on getting married in an UU church as a way to mollify the 'rents for not getting married in a Catholic Church. (the original plan was to have the ceremony at the reception)

I wonder if there are any Scientologists in Albemarle County, Virginia?
