May. 17th, 2004 04:21 pmStayed up late last night, to go hang out at Cambridge City Hall and watch people apply for marriage licenses. It was a little wierd - all the celebration over paperwork, and various bits of crowd admitted that they were shocked to see this bacchanalia come out of the woodwork over monogamy, and a wan little crowd of protesters trucked in from Kansas - but very fun. If you'd asked me twenty-four hours ago, I'd have told you that "Tomorrow" had no possible political use as a protest song, and I know better now. If we weren't married already, we'd have applied for a license last night.
There was basically the same scene at City Hall Plaza today, when I went down with
danceboy.
I'm really pround of Massachusetts, and glad that I live here.
I say that because it's not snowing now.
