Far be it from me to discourage a hobbyist, but this one seems likely to be far less enjoyable than your others, even the most masochistic of them.
I used to play a lot in this strep sandbox, with more frequency than you, and to more depth. It never paid any dividends, and few if any of the skills gained there transferred anywhere else, nor even helped me win these games any better. I can't say I would recommend it to anyone...
