Everything All At Once

I lost my wedding ring about three weeks ago. I took it off to work with pizza dough and it disappeared. I have been bugging a local jewelry store to help me get a replacement - a process that really should not be as hard as it has been. My wedding ring is a plain, gold, lightweight, comfort-fit band. But I have skinny fingers, and jewelry stores don't always have eensy little rings in stock, so they had to order it, and the first time, despite showing me a lightweight ring for comparison, they ordered a non-lightweight one that I was never in a million years going to be able to wear. They finally came up with the right thing this week and I picked it up this morning. It is freakishly shiny. I feel like I look like I was just married yesterday.

danceboy and I did all the setup to get me to the gym this morning, only to discover that Hotspur just wasn't having it. The fourth time the nice ladies at gym daycare came and got me, I decided to give up. We will be discussing what we can do to get me some evening gym time now that we have learned how to put Hotspur to bed and keep her put.

I need to cook today. And probably also tomorrow. In the hopes of having food this week go somewhat better than it did last week.

This having a job thing is kicking my ass. I find that I now feel like I could schedule every waking minute of every day. And the job really only wants eight hours, seriously, how hard can it be to fit in jogging, working out, making a set of racing costumes, cooking a few square meals, knitting for holiday gifts, grocery shopping... It is beginning to occur to me that what we really need is the same kind of housekeeper that Nancy Drew had, or that the President's daughter had in those books by Ellen Emerson White. I am hitting Craigs List, but don't know how far a really honest ad ("Desperate professional couple seeks Hannah Greene!") would get me.
