Today, I have a craving for Red Vines.
Red Vines are, essentially, extruded corn syrup with red dye. They are not, however, Twizzlers, however much the ingredient list for the one may resemble the other. Twizzlers use a different extrusion process, which results in an inferior texture, impeding one's experience of the flavor (what there is of it).
The first thing that bugs me is the utter worthlessness of this particular craving. I work in Harvard Square. If I want to eat things that are bad for me, there is Finale, and Cardullo's, and Burdicks. I could rot my innards with things I would enjoy more.
The second thing that bugs me is how hard it is to get Red Vines in this neck of the woods. I know of exactly one local store that sells them, and they are not reachable from work.
