Power to the Breasts
May. 31st, 2005 05:20 pmOn Saturday morning, I took our car to be inspected (I expected it to fail inspection), and looked at by a mechanic about what I estimated to be $500 worth of work and
danceboy estimated to be seven or eight hundred. I went alone because that I expected a price break would be forthcoming on the basis of my breasts, provided that it appeared that the price break was going to me, and not that I was merely accompanying some guy to drop off his car.
The car passed inspection, despite the fact that the horn doesn't work. I have an inspection report with the words "Horn Funct. - Pass" on it. They didn't test the emissions at all. They appear to have regarded my $29 as payment for a sticker.
This afternoon, the mechanic called about the actual work needed on the car.
danceboy and I were both wrong. Total work is $250. $100 of that needs to be in cash, so that it can be given to "the kid in the corner" who will be removing the car's alarm system, but who apparantly does not have a bank account. If the alarm system continues to function as it currently does, someone (possibly me) will eventually take a baseball bat to the car. Which would be more expensive.
I am sort of delighted. I must remember to use my powers only for good.
