Finally, a use for the flexed-arm hang...
Mar. 20th, 2005 08:19 pmI did a class on aerial silks this weekend. It was really neat, and I'd love to do it again, but oh my gawd, I need to work on arm strength and flexibility. And ab strength. And doing foot locks close to my ankle so that I don't crunch the bones near my toes.
I used to be immensely afraid of falling, and I probably still am - ladders totally freak me out - but it mostly wasn't an issue with this, even when I was moderately high up.
Today, we cleaned out the backyard (the parts that aren't still under snow) and planted grass. So I think it would actually be minimally painful to simply rip my arms off at this juncture. I'm taking lots of advil over the next few days.
I'm also having garden thoughts again. I need to talk to my aunt about when she wants to come up with hostas, and I will be putting in a raised flower bed. I think we'll start it with hostas, and then I'll put in bulbs that will bloom in early spring, and we'll talk about ways to add height to the back, and brightly colored flowers that will thrive in shade. After that, I have to go shopping for a bench and a gargoyle.
