Last night, danceboy made me watch the trailers for Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which looks like a really good movie. I am especially amused that they got Alan Rickman to voice Marvin the Paranoid Android.

I have a huge crush on Alan Rickman, based entirely on his voice. Oh my gods, that voice. There's something about it that my hindbrain can't resist. Maybe it's the way he almost lisps around his teeth, the way he seems to have to move his lips extra just to get past them. I don't know why I respond so strongly to bad orthodontistry in movie stars.

The upshot of all this is that I now have a crush on a fictional character that looks more or less like an iMac. With fangs.

i have long had a crush on alan rickman. mostly because of his voice. grrrr... and i love the harry potter movies because of him. he's such a good snape. rowr.

and now i have to go see hitchiker's guide. durnit. :)

but my claim to fame is that once i sat on an airplane behind him. he was in first class (duh) and i was in the front of peasant class. and i heard his voice. and i was like, oh. my. god. that's alan rickman. and i went through the airport after we disembarked and stood as close to him as possible so that i could hear his voice for as long as possible.

no i didn't talk to him. or ask him for an autograph. he needs not deal with the masses. i respect him too much to throw my soiled peasant body upon him. but just to listen to him! *sigh*
