We took Danger Lad! to aerial silks class last night, which might not seem like all that good an idea, and was pretty exhausting for me (there are stairs at silks, and toddlers should not play on crash mats that are currently in use), but which worked out great. A pretty girl gave him juggling balls to play with, and he actually exhibited some proto-juggling behavior: dropping the balls on a crash mat, rearranging them, picking them up again. He can't figure out how to climb stairs with a juggling ball in each hand. Which is the best use of juggling balls ever.

At things like this, it's easy to see behaviors that [profile] schr0dinger gets from [personal profile] danceboy, and ones he gets from me. The proto-juggling is totally a [personal profile] danceboy thing. The mugging for laughs he gets from me. The stubborn return to the stairs/ladders/crash mats/entrancing forbidden things from which he has been removed is so very strong in him because he gets it from both of us.

Other traits he gets from me include pillow-hogging. Kid is two and a half feet tall, and has been stealing all the pillows and crowding me in bed. Except that last night, we managed not to move him in to bed with me. There was great rejoicing.

I've had similar problems with my younger one being a total bed-hog. He's a lot older than Schrodinger, but he does this thing where he turns sideways in bed at night and kicks at anything in reach, making it impossible to actually sleep next to him (which he did sporadically for a while a couple years ago). I saw this one day and employed it the very next night. He still ended up sideways, with his feet under the pillow, but it succeeded in giving me enough kick-free space to sleep. :)

Yay for having your bed to sleep in when you want it that way!
