Quick! Like a Bunny!
Aug. 28th, 2008 08:45 amThe last few days at the Institute have been crazy. If I had to describe progress, I would say that we have the fires 85% contained, and if the wind doesn't pick up, we hope to have it completely controlled within a day or so. All of this has been interfering mightily with less lucrative things I would rather be doing.
- I am almost finished the Tempest cardigan. It needs to be sewn up (1.6 sleeves are attached), and have the neck and button hole band added, and then it needs a hem... I have been carrying it around for days, and had no chance to touch it.
- I have ordered "Sky-High Cakes" from Amazon. I am so excited by it I can barely think. Words! About cakes! I'm like Danger Lad! the day he discovered a book with pictures of cats on one of our less-trafficked bookshelves. (They're boring photos - neither artistically interesting, nor cute - accompanied by not particularly witty things that famous people have said about cats, and Danger Lad! was just so delighted to open a book and find kitties that there are no words for it.) Only I don't have the book in my hands yet. It shipped last night.
- We are getting kittens! Two of them. I pick them up from the shelter today, and put them carefully in our spare room, with food and water and a litter box, and then...
- I go graduate! I wear a silly hat and stand up and they say I am a Master!
